Jewelry Info/Care

Every piece of Dalva Fine Jewelry is meticulously handcrafted, and made to be worn every day. We hand select the stones we use for each piece for their beauty. Slight variance should be expected.

Handle with care and follow the simple guidelines below to ensure your pieces stay beautiful and last a lifetime. It is suggest to remove jewelry during activities that are hard on the hands, like exercising, carrying heavy objects, gardening, and working with household cleaners or chemicals.

Wipe your jewelry gently with a polishing cloth after you have worn it and store it in a cool, dry place. If you would like to restore your jewelry’s lustrous finish, or remove dirt and oil build up on your pieces, use a soft bristle toothbrush and soapy water. Then rinse the piece in water and dry, and finish with a polishing cloth. If a much deeper cleaning is needed, we recommend a professional cleaning at your local jeweler.

White Diamonds: White diamonds are very hardy, and can be cleaned safely with a polishing cloth, soap and water, jewelry cleaning solutions and steam and ultrasonic cleaners.

Pearls: Pearls are resilient and meant to be worn, but they are also delicate and require proper care. Pearls are organic gemstones that are sensitive to acids, chemicals, and extremes of humidity. To help retain their radiance, avoid letting your pearl jewelry come in contact with cosmetics, hair spray, or perfume. Be sure to wipe pearls with a soft cloth after every use, which helps remove any chemicals, dirt, or perspiration before storing. Store your pearls separate from other jewelry to avoid scratches on the surface. Ultrasonic cleanser should never be used with pearl jewelry as it can damage the pearls. Instead, if necessary, use a soft bristle toothbrush and soapy water to gently clean, and wear often. Your own body oils help pearls to keep their lustre.

Colored Gemstones: Black diamonds, opals, tourmalines, sapphires, rubies, and all other gemstones should be kept away from high heat, chemicals, oils, perfumes, and household cleaners. Clean your gemstone jewelry using a soft bristle toothbrush and soapy water and dry them immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid using commercial jewelry cleansers, steam or ultrasonic cleaners.
